Biography
Ben Falcón (he/him/his) is a political science Ph.D. candidate at The Ohio State University, specializing in historical international relations and comparative state development. His dissertation research examines political divergence in leadership tenures after the 8th century, focusing on alliance behavior and extended deterrence among Christian rulers and their implications for long-term state-building.
Falcón holds an M.A. in Political Science from Ohio State, a B.A. in Political Science and History with a minor in Chinese from Trinity University (with honors) in San Antonio, Texas, and an A.A. in Liberal Arts from Del Mar College (with honors) in Corpus Christi, Texas. The American Political Science Association named him a 2022-2023 Diversity Fellow, and the Ohio State University's graduate school named him a Patrick S. Osmer Fellow.
At Ohio State, Falcón teaches undergraduate courses on international environmental politics and the politics of authoritarian regimes, linking these courses to his research on international relations and comparative politics.
